Magazine Rack This two-panel work was commissioned for Sumner High School in Sumner, Washington. In addition to visually toying with the notion of physical continuity, the mural offers its rural/suburban student audience an urban newsstand. This is an image of free speech and access to democracy’s wide range of good and bad information and influences. Ironically, the mural was eventually removed from the school because of objectionable content on one of the painted magazine covers. Its current location, if it still exists, is unknown.
